i. Presentation of Eve to Adam</b>

Upon his waking:
Porcelain skin, the slender spoon-shaped curve of her back
Sapphires down-turned, poised and half-lidded
Above pursed lips
Hair falls in golden ringlet

Hand around her wrist,
As though measuring the worth of her --
Cape billowing like a bursting heart
Leans in real close;
"You are his, and he is yours, and you are a part of him."
Pursed lips form an 'o', shape of life, shaping words
She finished, "And this is good."

Nightmare creatures from underneath the earth
Lying together
Flight of birds
A piece of innocence, everlasting
"Stay, for you are a part of me,
And I a part of you."

ii. Garden of Earthly Delights</b>

Organic vessels drinking from mollusks and lustful eyes and parted lips and slack jaws and clothes strewn everywhere and the secret man in his secret cave plastic tubes and secret woman and their secret words broken shells and conical huts and cavorting and dancing and sex and play and color all the color in the world and beyond more than you could imagine we promise anything you want we'll give it to you just don't call the cops my parents will be so pissed but we're having fun and we don't care and giant birds and engorged fruit and strange people people everywhere people laughing people screaming people having fun we just want to have fun no man in the sky and his house in the clouds is just as superstition we're just here to have fun and there's so little time but have all the time in the world

iii. Hell </b>

"Hell is other people."

Shed my clothes, shed my hair, shed my skin, shed my flesh, shed my blood, shed my name, shed my hope.

"Hell is a place, a time, a consciousness, in which there is no love."

You're sitting at a dining table with the family you left behind years ago. And they're looking at you; mother, father, wife, children, with eyes as black as coal, and they're telling  you in words as heavy as lead how much you hurt them, over and over and over again. And you know, deep inside you, it won't ever stop, and you can't ever make them stop, and you can't ever make it right.

"Hell is empty, and all the devils are here."

In life, I begged for a place without people. In death, I beg for a place with anyone but myself.

"Each of us bears his own hell."

The angel comes down to tell you that, after forty years wrapped in thorns and boiled in oil, that this place has changed. That you are no longer being punished, but purged. That once you pay your dues, once you let go of your sins, you will be set free. And you wish you could say back, with flayed and torn and wrecked lips, "But I can't."

"Hell is truth seen too late."

They weighed you down with chains and stones, filled your lungs with air, and placed everything you ever wanted at the surface of the water.

"If you're going through hell, keep going."
Read alongside Hieronymous Bosch's triptych, the Garden of Earthly Delights, left to right.

I love the begining, it's so artistically written.

Hell is my favorite, I think. But it's so hard to choose...
